Bayern Alzenau 0-1 TuBa Pohlheim: Visitors Hold On for Valuable Away Win

TuBa Pohlheim claimed a narrow 0-1 victory over Bayern Alzenau in German Bundesliga 5 on 17 October 2026. A single second-half goal proved enough for the visitors, who defended resolutely through a tense final period at the Stadion am Prischoß.

The result gives Pohlheim three important away points and leaves Bayern Alzenau frustrated after a game in which they saw plenty of the ball but could not find an equaliser.

Match Overview

Key Moments

• First-half pressure: Bayern Alzenau controlled possession early on but struggled to find a way through a compact Pohlheim defence.
• 57th minute – 0-1: TuBa Pohlheim scored the decisive goal, converting from inside the box after a well-timed run behind the home back line.
• 72nd minute – Alzenau response: The hosts pushed forward and forced a sharp save from the Pohlheim goalkeeper at the near post.
• 89th minute – late block: A last-ditch defensive block denied Alzenau a late equaliser as Pohlheim held firm.

Tactical Story

Bayern Alzenau dictated the ball for long stretches, building patiently and trying to pull Pohlheim out of position. The visitors, however, kept their shape well and limited clear sights of goal. Their midfield worked hard to screen the back four, and their counter-attacking threat grew as the match wore on.

The decisive moment came from one of those transitions. Pohlheim moved the ball quickly into the final third and found the finish their disciplined approach deserved. Alzenau responded with more urgency and more crosses, but Pohlheim’s defenders dealt with the pressure and protected their lead.

Standout Performers

The Pohlheim goalkeeper was excellent in the closing stages, making a crucial save and claiming several dangerous deliveries. The goalscorer also deserves credit for a composed finish in a tight moment. For Alzenau, the central midfielder kept the team ticking and never stopped probing, while the left-back offered consistent width and delivery.

Table Impact

Three points give TuBa Pohlheim a strong boost in the German Bundesliga 5 standings and reward their organised away performance. Bayern Alzenau remain with work to do in front of goal, but their intent was clear. The challenge for the home side is to convert possession into clearer chances in the weeks ahead.
