Aumund-Vegesack and TuS Schwachhausen played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in German Bundesliga 5 on 17 October 2026, with the hosts surrendering a two-goal lead before rescuing a point late on. The six-goal contest had momentum swings, defensive errors, and two braces, making it one of the most entertaining fixtures of the weekend.

Match overview

Aumund-Vegesack made a blistering start and led 2-0 inside 20 minutes. Luca Böttcher opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a sharp finish after a turnover in midfield, and Marcel Kruse doubled the advantage with a header from a corner. TuS Schwachhausen responded well, pulling one back in the 31st minute through Jan-Niklas Osterloh, who beat the goalkeeper with a low drive.

The visitors equalised in the 57th minute when Kevin Schmidt converted a penalty after a foul in the box. Aumund regained the lead in the 74th minute through Böttcher’s second goal, but Schwachhausen refused to lie down. Osterloh grabbed his second of the match in the 88th minute, finishing a flowing move to secure a share of the points.

Key moments

The early goals set the tone for an open game. Aumund’s two-goal cushion looked comfortable, but Schwachhausen’s response before half-time changed the atmosphere. The penalty early in the second half gave the visitors momentum, and Aumund’s third goal seemed to have settled matters until Osterloh’s late equaliser. Both goalkeepers made important saves in the final minutes as the game stretched from end to end.

Tactical story

Aumund-Vegesack’s high press caused problems early, but it also left space behind their defence as the game wore on. TuS Schwachhausen adjusted by playing longer passes and attacking the flanks, which brought them back into the contest. Set pieces were a constant threat at both ends. Aumund will be frustrated by their inability to protect the lead, while Schwachhausen will take confidence from their fighting spirit.

Standout players

• Luca Böttcher — scored twice and was a constant nuisance for the Schwachhausen defence.
• Jan-Niklas Osterloh — his brace dragged the visitors back into the game.
• Marcel Kruse — strong in the air and scored Aumund’s second goal.

Season impact

The draw leaves both teams with mixed emotions. Aumund-Vegesack will feel two points dropped after leading twice, while TuS Schwachhausen will view the comeback as a sign of character. In a competitive fifth-tier campaign, such performances can shape momentum, and both sides will look to tighten up defensively while maintaining their attacking threat.
