Arminia Bielefeld B 2-1 SC Rot Weiss Maaslingen: Berger Winner Settles Tight Contest

Full-time: Arminia Bielefeld B 2-1 SC Rot Weiss Maaslingen

Arminia Bielefeld B came from behind to beat SC Rot Weiss Maaslingen 2-1 in German Bundesliga 5 on 25 October 2026, with Noah Berger scoring the decisive goal in the second half. The young Bielefeld side showed patience and composure after conceding early, gradually taking control of the game and creating the better chances as the match progressed.

Maaslingen started brightly and took the lead against the run of play, but Bielefeld B responded well. Their midfield began to dictate possession, and the equaliser before half-time changed the momentum of the contest.

Key Moments

• 23rd minute: Sven Kroll gave Maaslingen the lead with a composed finish after a quick break down the right.
• 41st minute: Emil Hartwig equalised for Arminia Bielefeld B, arriving late in the box to convert a low cross.
• 67th minute: Noah Berger scored the winner, finishing a neat passing move with a first-time strike from the edge of the area.
• 86th minute: Bielefeld B goalkeeper Lennart Voss made a crucial save to deny Maaslingen a late equaliser.

Tactical Story

Bielefeld B played with control and patience, using their midfield rotations to pull Maaslingen out of shape. Their full-backs pushed high to create width, and the front players drifted into pockets of space between the lines. That movement was too much for Maaslingen to handle for long stretches, especially after Bielefeld B equalised.

Maaslingen remained dangerous on the counter and were never completely out of the game. Their compact defensive block made life difficult at times, but Bielefeld B’s superior possession and sharper passing in the final third eventually made the difference. The late save from Voss proved just as important as the winning goal.

Standout Players

Berger’s winning goal capped a strong all-round display, while Hartwig’s equaliser was a reward for his intelligent movement in the box. Voss deserves credit for the late save that secured the three points. For Maaslingen, Kroll was their most threatening player, and his first-half goal showed how dangerous they can be when given space to counter.

Standings and Season Impact

The win gives Arminia Bielefeld B an important boost in the Bundesliga 5 standings and underlines the value of their patience in possession. For Maaslingen, the narrow defeat will be frustrating, especially after taking the lead, but their performance contained enough positive moments to suggest they can compete in tight matches. Both sides now turn their attention to the next round with plenty to build on.
