Iveria Khashuri claimed a 2-0 away victory over Gardabani in Georgia Erovnuli Liga 3 on 22 October 2026, scoring in each half to secure a disciplined and valuable three points. The visitors were organised at the back, efficient in transition and ruthless in the key moments, leaving Gardabani to rue a lack of cutting edge in the final third.

Match Overview

Gardabani began the match with plenty of energy and looked to press Iveria Khashuri high up the pitch. The home side enjoyed more of the ball in the opening 20 minutes, but their possession lacked penetration, with most of their attacks ending in crosses that were comfortably cleared. Iveria Khashuri grew into the game and took the lead with their first clear chance of the match.

After the break, Gardabani pushed more bodies forward in search of an equaliser, but that left space for Iveria Khashuri to exploit on the counter. The visitors added a second goal in the 72nd minute and then managed the closing stages professionally, limiting Gardabani to speculative efforts from distance.

Key Moments

• 34th minute: Iveria Khashuri took the lead when Giorgi Abuladze met a low cross at the near post and flicked a clever finish past the goalkeeper.
• 51st minute: Gardabani’s best chance fell to their striker inside the box, but his effort was blocked by a brave defensive challenge.
• 72nd minute: Levan Kiknadze doubled the visitors’ advantage with a powerful run from midfield and a composed finish into the bottom corner.
• 86th minute: Gardabani forced a late corner and a goalmouth scramble, but Iveria Khashuri’s defence held firm.

Tactical Story

Iveria Khashuri set up with a solid defensive structure and looked to win the ball in midfield before attacking quickly. Their two central midfielders were excellent at screening the back four, and their wide players provided the pace needed to hurt Gardabani on the break. The first goal came from exactly that kind of transition, with a quick move down the flank catching the home defence out of shape.

Gardabani, meanwhile, struggled to turn territory into clear chances. Their build-up was patient but predictable, and Iveria Khashuri were happy to let them have the ball in harmless areas. When Gardabani did commit numbers forward in the second half, they were exposed for the second goal. It was a mature away performance from Iveria Khashuri, who managed the game intelligently after taking the lead.

Standout Players

Giorgi Abuladze was a constant threat for Iveria Khashuri, opening the scoring and linking play well between midfield and attack. Levan Kiknadze added the second and drove his team forward with powerful runs. At the back, Iveria’s goalkeeper and centre-backs deserve credit for a clean sheet, while Gardabani’s captain worked tirelessly in midfield but lacked support in the final third.

Season Impact

The win strengthens Iveria Khashuri’s position in the Georgia Erovnuli Liga 3 table and gives them valuable momentum in the promotion race. For Gardabani, the defeat leaves them with work to do as they look to climb away from the lower reaches of the standings. With the season entering a decisive period, Iveria Khashuri’s ability to win away from home could prove crucial, while Gardabani must find more creativity and composure in front of goal.
