FC Norchi Dinamoeli Tbilisi and Iveria Khashuri played out a 2-2 draw in the Georgia Erovnuli Liga 3 on 9 October 2026, a result that felt like a relief for the hosts and a missed opportunity for the visitors. Twice Iveria Khashuri held the lead, and twice Norchi Dinamoeli Tbilisi clawed their way back, with a late equaliser rescuing a point in front of their home supporters.

The draw keeps both teams locked in the mid-table battle of a division where consistency has been hard to come by, and it underlined just how fine the margins are in Georgian third-tier football.

Match overview

The contest began with Iveria Khashuri looking sharper in possession. Their midfield rotated the ball intelligently, drawing Norchi Dinamoeli Tbilisi out of shape before looking for the pass in behind. The hosts, by contrast, took a more direct route, aiming long balls towards their strikers and looking to win second balls in the opposition half.

It was a game of contrasting styles, and both approaches produced goals. What neither side could manage was control — the momentum shifted repeatedly, and the closing stages were played at a frantic pace as both teams pushed for a winner.

Key moments

• 22nd minute: Iveria Khashuri took the lead, finishing off a patient move with a shot from just inside the area.
• 37th minute: Norchi Dinamoeli Tbilisi levelled, their persistence paying off after a goalmouth scramble.
• 66th minute: Iveria Khashuri restored their advantage with a well-taken goal on the counterattack.
• 88th minute: Norchi Dinamoeli Tbilisi found a dramatic equaliser, sending the home crowd into celebration and denying the visitors all three points.

Tactical story

Norchi Dinamoeli Tbilisi's biggest problem in the first hour was their inability to keep the ball for sustained periods. Their passing was often rushed, and when they lost possession they were vulnerable to Iveria Khashuri's quick transitions. The introduction of fresh legs in the second half helped, adding energy to the press and allowing the hosts to pin their opponents back in the closing stages.

Iveria Khashuri will be frustrated by how the game finished. Twice they got themselves into a winning position, and twice they failed to see it through — a pattern that has cost them points before. Their quality on the ball was clear, but the discipline required to close out a narrow lead was missing when it mattered most.

Standout performers

For the hosts, the players who drove the late surge were the difference between defeat and a draw, showing the kind of character that coaches value in a long league season. Norchi Dinamoeli Tbilisi's midfield worked tirelessly to turn the tide of the game.

Iveria Khashuri's attacking players were the game's most threatening throughout, particularly in transition, where their speed and direct running caused constant problems. Their goalkeeper also made several important saves to keep the scoreline level at key moments.

League impact

A draw does little to change the trajectory of either club's season, but the manner of it will linger. Norchi Dinamoeli Tbilisi will take confidence from their resilience, while Iveria Khashuri must address the habit of conceding late goals if they are to convert promising performances into victories.

In the Erovnuli Liga 3, where squads are often thin and the fixture list is unforgiving, points gained through sheer persistence are valuable. Both sides will feel they have something to build on — and something to fix — as the campaign continues.
