RC Roubaix Wervicq (W) delivered a commanding away performance to beat Nice Women 4-0 in FRA WD2 on 25 October 2026, with a ruthless attacking display that underlined their quality in the final third. The visitors controlled large stretches of the match and turned their superiority into goals, leaving Nice Women with a difficult evening at home.

Match overview

Roubaix Wervicq started with intent, pressing high and forcing Nice into early mistakes. The opening goal settled the visitors and forced Nice to chase the game, which created more space for Roubaix to exploit. By the time the second goal arrived, the away side had established a clear grip on the contest, and the second half became a matter of game management and adding further polish to the scoreline.

Key moments

• Early breakthrough: Roubaix Wervicq opened the scoring after a sustained spell of pressure, setting the tone for the match.
• First-half control: A second goal before the break gave the visitors a comfortable cushion and left Nice needing a major response.
• Second-half finish: Roubaix added two more goals after the interval, capitalising on spaces as Nice pushed forward in search of a route back into the game.

Tactical story

The away side’s pressing structure was central to the result. Roubaix Wervicq won possession in dangerous areas and moved the ball quickly through midfield, preventing Nice from settling into a defensive rhythm. Nice attempted to play out from the back, but the pressure often forced long balls that were comfortably dealt with. As the game wore on, Roubaix’s wide players found increasing joy in the channels, stretching the home defence and creating room for the forwards.

Standout performers

Roubaix Wervicq’s attacking unit was the obvious difference-maker, with sharp movement and clinical finishing across the four goals. The midfield also deserves mention for balancing creativity with control, ensuring Nice were never able to build sustained momentum. For Nice Women, there were few positives on the scoreboard, though their goalkeeper remained busy and made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat.

Table impact

The 4-0 victory gives RC Roubaix Wervicq (W) a significant boost in the FRA WD2 standings and strengthens their goal difference, which can be crucial in a tightly contested division. Nice Women will need to regroup quickly after a heavy home defeat, particularly with defensive organisation and ball retention likely to be priorities in the coming fixtures. For Roubaix, the result is a clear statement of intent.
