Racing Levallois U19 2-0 FC Chartres U19 — Racing Levallois turned in one of their most controlled home performances of the early French U19 Youth League season, seeing off FC Chartres U19 with a two-goal victory on the evening of Sunday 20 September 2026. A disciplined first-half display and a clinical second-half finish settled a contest that Levallois largely dictated from the opening whistle.

Match overview

Played under the lights in the Paris suburbs, the fixture pitted a Levallois side known for its technical, possession-based approach against a Chartres team that arrived with a reputation for resilience and quick counter-attacks. The home side's shape held firm throughout, and the visitors never truly found a route back into the game after conceding early.

How the game unfolded

Levallois started with intent, pressing high and forcing Chartres into rushed clearances. The breakthrough arrived inside the opening half-hour, when a well-worked move down the right ended with a low cross that was turned in from close range. The goal gave the hosts confidence, and they spent the remainder of the first half camped in the opposition half, probing for a second.

Chartres regrouped after the interval and enjoyed their best spell of the match, winning a series of set pieces and forcing two saves from the Levallois goalkeeper. But the home defence, marshalled by a composed central pairing and a goalkeeper who commanded his area well, absorbed the pressure without panic. The decisive moment came in the closing stages, when Levallois broke at speed and finished clinically to make it 2-0 and remove any lingering doubt.

Tactical story

The match was a classic case of a possession side managing a game intelligently. Levallois's midfield trio rotated constantly, dragging the Chartres block out of shape and creating overloads in wide areas. When the visitors did win the ball, they were met by a compact defensive structure that funnelled them towards the touchline.

Chartres's most dangerous moments came from transitions, but their final ball let them down too often. Their coach will take encouragement from the second-half reaction, yet the lack of a cutting edge in the final third was the clear difference between the two sides.

Standout performers

The Levallois captain set the tempo from central midfield, linking defence and attack with simple, effective passing and winning several important duels. The right-sided attacker was a constant threat, and the goalscorer who opened the scoring showed the kind of instincts that youth coaches prize. For Chartres, the goalkeeper kept the scoreline respectable with a string of second-half saves, while their left-back was the most consistent outlet going forward.

What it means

Three points at home keeps Racing Levallois firmly in the upper reaches of the French U19 Youth League standings and reinforces their reputation as one of the more polished academy sides in the region. For FC Chartres U19, the result is a reminder of the fine margins at this level: a solid defensive structure alone is not enough without end product. Both teams now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures, with Levallois looking to build momentum and Chartres eager to convert promising spells into points.
