Clermont U19 produced a ruthless attacking display to thrash Pontarlier U19 6-0 in the French U19 Youth League, delivering one of the most emphatic results of the weekend. The match, played on October 11, 2026, was effectively decided by halftime as Clermont’s movement, pressing, and finishing overwhelmed the hosts from the opening minutes.

First Half: Clermont Take Control

Clermont U19 started with purpose, pressing Pontarlier high and forcing mistakes in the defensive third. The opening goal arrived early after a turnover in midfield was quickly turned into a shooting opportunity. From there, the visitors never looked back. Their midfield trio controlled the tempo, switching play from side to side and creating overloads in wide areas.

Pontarlier U19 struggled to keep possession, and every time they lost the ball, Clermont attacked with speed. By the 30-minute mark, Clermont had doubled their lead with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box. A third goal followed before halftime, a header from a corner that highlighted Clermont’s dominance in set-piece situations. The hosts went into the break with a mountain to climb.

Second Half: No Let-Up from Clermont

Rather than sit on their lead, Clermont U19 continued to attack in the second half. Their youthful energy and sharp combination play carved open the Pontarlier defense repeatedly. A fourth goal came shortly after the restart, finished calmly after a neat one-two on the edge of the area. Pontarlier tried to respond with a few counter-attacks, but Clermont’s goalkeeper was rarely troubled.

The fifth goal was arguably the best of the night, a curling effort from outside the box that found the top corner. Clermont completed the scoring late on with a sixth goal, again exploiting space behind the Pontarlier back line. The scoreline reflected the gap in quality, execution, and confidence between the two sides.
