LA Saint-Colomban Locmine came from behind to beat Chauray Fc 3-1 in the French Championnat National 2 on Sunday, 18 October 2026. A second-half surge, inspired by a brace from Mathis Le Goff, turned the match around after the visitors had taken a surprise early lead.

Locmine’s victory was built on patience and improved pressing after the interval. Chauray frustrated the hosts for long spells, but once Locmine found their rhythm, they created a steady flow of chances and ultimately pulled away.

Match overview

Chauray started brightly and stunned the home crowd in the 12th minute when Romain Pichon converted from close range after a quick move down the right. Locmine responded with plenty of possession but initially struggled to break down a compact defensive block.

The equaliser arrived before half-time, and it changed the mood of the match. Locmine came out with greater urgency after the break, pressing higher and forcing Chauray into mistakes. Two second-half goals completed a satisfying comeback.

Key moments

• 12th minute – 0-1 Chauray Fc: Romain Pichon tapped in from close range after a low cross from the right.
• 34th minute – 1-1 Locmine: Mathis Le Goff levelled with a composed finish after a neat exchange on the edge of the box.
• 56th minute – 2-1 Locmine: Le Goff struck again, arriving at the back post to convert a deep cross.
• 82nd minute – 3-1 Locmine: Enzo Daniel sealed the win with a low drive from outside the area.

Tactical story

Locmine’s 4-3-3 initially lacked width, allowing Chauray to defend narrow and clear crosses with relative ease. The turning point came when the home side pushed their full-backs higher and began to attack with more numbers. That adjustment stretched Chauray’s back line and created space for Le Goff to exploit.

Chauray’s 4-4-2 worked well in the opening half-hour, but the visitors tired as the game wore on. Their midfield dropped deeper, and Locmine took full advantage by winning second balls and sustaining pressure around the penalty area.

Standout players

Le Goff was the match’s decisive figure, scoring twice and constantly troubling the defence with his movement. Daniel added energy and creativity from midfield, while Chauray goalkeeper and defenders deserve credit for keeping the score respectable during Locmine’s strongest spells.

Season impact

The three points lift LA Saint-Colomban Locmine into a more comfortable position in the National 2 standings and reinforce their credentials as a difficult side to beat at home. Chauray, meanwhile, will need to address their away form after another afternoon in which they competed well but lacked the durability to hold on.
