Feignies claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FC Chambly Oise in the French Championnat National 2, thanks to a second-half goal that separated two well-organised sides. The win gives Feignies a valuable three points in a tightly contested promotion race.

Match Overview

Played at a lively tempo but with few clear-cut chances, the match was decided by a single moment of quality. Feignies controlled the opening exchanges without creating anything definitive, while Chambly Oise looked dangerous on the break. The deadlock was finally broken in the 67th minute when Enzo Delcroix converted from the penalty spot after a Chambly defender was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area. From there, Feignies defended intelligently, limiting their opponents to hopeful crosses and long-range efforts.

Key Moments

• 23’ – Chance: Feignies’ Clément Fournier forces a smart save from the Chambly goalkeeper with a dipping effort.
• 45+1’ – Chance: Chambly’s best opportunity of the first half is headed just wide from a corner.
• 67’ – Goal: Enzo Delcroix keeps his composure from the penalty spot to put Feignies ahead.
• 81’ – Save: The Feignies goalkeeper produces a strong stop to deny Chambly an equaliser.
• 90+3’ – Block: A last-ditch defensive block preserves the clean sheet.

Tactical Story

Feignies set up in a disciplined 4-3-3, pressing in midfield and looking to turn possession into quick transitions. Chambly Oise matched them for long spells with a 4-2-3-1 that aimed to control the centre of the pitch. The decisive tactical shift came after the penalty, when Feignies dropped their defensive line slightly deeper and invited Chambly to break them down. The visitors struggled to find gaps, and Feignies’ back four dealt comfortably with the aerial threat. It was not a vintage attacking display, but it was an effective one.

Standout Players

Enzo Delcroix was the match-winner, not only for his penalty but also for his work rate in linking midfield and attack. Clément Fournier was a constant outlet on the left, while the Feignies goalkeeper deserved credit for a crucial late save. For Chambly Oise, the central defenders performed well for much of the game, but their attacking players were kept quiet by a determined home defence.

Season Impact

The victory moves Feignies up the Championnat National 2 table and reinforces their credentials as genuine promotion contenders. Chambly Oise, meanwhile, will rue a missed opportunity to take points on the road. With the season still unfolding, both sides know that fine margins like these often decide who climbs the table and who settles for mid-table security.
