Tactical Story

Lille B’s high pressing and quick transitions caused problems throughout. Their midfield won the majority of second balls, allowing the forwards to attack space behind Vimy’s defence. Vimy struggled to build sustained possession and were often forced into long clearances. When they did get forward, Lille B’s defensive structure remained solid, limiting clear chances until the visitors’ consolation goal.

Standout Players

Bensalem was the standout performer with two goals and constant movement in the final third. Hamdi controlled the tempo in midfield and added a goal of his own, while Mabiala’s energy off the bench helped Lille B finish strongly. For Vimy, Leroy took his goal well and was one of the few visiting players able to threaten.

Season Impact

The three points strengthen Lille B’s position in the standings and underline the quality within the reserve squad. For US Vimy, the defeat highlights the need for greater defensive resilience, especially away from home. Lille B will look to build on this performance, while Vimy must regroup quickly before their next National 2 fixture.
