US Ivry secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over SFC Neuilly sur Marne in French Championnat National 2 action, with a single second-half goal proving enough to settle a tense and tightly contested local encounter.

Match Overview

Ivry controlled much of the ball in the opening hour but found Neuilly sur Marne stubborn and well organized. The visitors defended in a compact block, limited space in behind, and looked dangerous on the counter. The decisive moment arrived in the 67th minute when Ivry worked the ball into the penalty area and midfielder Yanis Kaddour produced a low finish from the edge of the box after a neat build-up down the right.

Neuilly pushed for an equaliser in the final 20 minutes and forced a couple of set-piece situations, but Ivry’s back line held firm. The home side managed the closing stages well, slowing the tempo and keeping the visitors at arm’s length. Full-time: US Ivry 1-0 SFC Neuilly sur Marne.

Key Moments

• 21st minute: Neuilly’s first serious break ended with a low cross that Ivry cleared at the near post.
• 44th minute: Ivry headed narrowly wide from a corner after a period of sustained pressure.
• 67th minute: Kaddour scored the only goal, finishing calmly after a quick exchange on the right flank.
• 79th minute: Ivry goalkeeper Mathis Roux saved a dipping free-kick to protect the lead.
• 90+3 minutes: A last-ditch block denied Neuilly a late equaliser.

Tactical Story

Ivry’s 4-2-3-1 shape gave them control in midfield, with the full-backs pushing high to stretch Neuilly’s defensive line. The visitors sat deep and tried to spring quick counter-attacks through the channels, but they struggled to sustain pressure in the final third. Once Ivry scored, the home side dropped slightly deeper and relied on disciplined defending and game management rather than chasing a second goal.

Standout Players

Kaddour was the match-winner, but Ivry’s goalkeeper Roux deserved credit for a composed late save. Neuilly’s central defender Damien Leclerc was arguably the visitors’ best player, winning several important duels and clearing danger under pressure.

Season Impact

The three points give Ivry a useful boost in the early-season standings and reinforce their home form. For Neuilly sur Marne, the defeat is a frustrating one: they defended well for long spells but lacked the cutting edge needed to take something from the game. Both sides will now turn their attention to the next round of National 2 fixtures.
