Match overview

FC Challans started the match with intent, pressing high and looking to force mistakes in the Avoine Chinon defence. The home side created a few promising moments in the opening half-hour but could not find the final pass. Avoine Chinon grew into the game as the half wore on, using their midfield to slow the tempo and frustrate the hosts.

The breakthrough came in the 74th minute when Bouazza arrived late in the box to convert a low cross. FC Challans pushed hard for an equalizer in the closing stages, but Avoine Chinon’s defence held firm and the visitors saw out the game with maturity.

Tactical story

FC Challans’ approach was built on quick passing and movement in the attacking third, but they struggled to break down Avoine Chinon’s compact defensive block. The visitors sat deep, denied space between the lines, and looked to hit on the counter. That strategy paid off in the second half when Bouazza found the decisive goal.

Avoine Chinon’s midfield worked hard to close down passing lanes, and their back four remained organized under pressure. FC Challans increased their tempo after conceding, but their crosses were often cleared and their long-range efforts lacked accuracy. The away side managed the final minutes professionally, taking the sting out of the game.

Standout performers

Bouazza was the key figure for Avoine Chinon, not only for his goal but also for his work rate off the ball. The visitors’ centre-backs were commanding in the air, while their goalkeeper handled several late crosses with assurance. For FC Challans, Baptiste Guérin made important saves to keep the deficit at one, and the home side’s captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

What it means

Avoine Chinon’s away win adds three important points to their Championnat National 2 campaign and highlights their ability to win in difficult conditions. FC Challans will be disappointed to have lost at home, especially after a promising start, but they will take encouragement from the chances they created. With the table still taking shape, both teams will know that consistency in tight matches will be crucial as the season progresses.
