Pingtan Team 1–3 Ningde Team: Ningde Power to Impressive Away Win

Ningde Team delivered a composed and clinical performance on the road, defeating Pingtan Team 3–1 at the Pingtan Stadium on 16 May 2026. The result strengthens Ningde’s push for the top spots in the Fujian Football City League, while Pingtan were left to reflect on a disjointed display that never quite got going.

Match Overview

From the opening whistle, Ningde looked the more organised side. They controlled possession and pressed Pingtan into errors, taking a deserved lead midway through the first half. Pingtan briefly rallied after the interval and equalised against the run of play, but Ningde responded with two quick‑fire goals to put the contest beyond doubt. The 3–1 final score accurately reflected Ningde’s superiority over the 90 minutes.

Tactical Story

Ningde set up in a fluid 4‑3‑3 that allowed their wingers to isolate Pingtan’s full‑backs. The first goal came from exactly that pattern – a cross from the right was nodded home by the on‑running central midfielder. After Pingtan’s equaliser (a scrappy goal from a corner), Ningde did not panic. They reverted to a higher defensive line and flooded the midfield, regaining control within five minutes. Two goals in a three‑minute spell – a curling free‑kick and a close‑range finish – ended the contest.

Key Moments

• 23rd minute: Ningde’s right‑winger delivered a precise cross, headed home by the midfielder arriving late. 0–1.
• 56th minute: Pingtan’s centre‑back poked the ball over the line from a goalmouth scramble. 1–1.
• 68th minute: A perfectly taken free‑kick from 25 metres restored Ningde’s lead. 1–2.
• 71st minute: A fast break caught Pingtan out of shape, and the Ningde forward slotted home. 1–3.

Player to Watch

Ningde’s creative midfielder, who scored the opener and played a key role in the second and third goals, was the standout performer. His vision and passing range kept Pingtan on the back foot, and his work rate off the ball set the tone for the entire team.

League Impact

With this win, Ningde move into the top three of the Fujian Football City League table, just two points behind the leaders. Pingtan, meanwhile, drop to the lower half and will need to quickly regroup as the season enters its crucial middle phase. The defeat also stretches Pingtan’s winless run to three matches, raising concerns about their consistency.
