Puiu 4–1 Lahden Reipas: Puiu Run Riot with First‑Half Blitz

Puiu produced a devastating first‑half performance to crush Lahden Reipas 4–1 at the Puiu Stadium on 18 July 2026, climbing to the top of the Finnish Ykkonen table in the process. Four goals inside the opening 32 minutes left the visitors shell‑shocked and underlined Puiu’s title credentials.

The home side opened the scoring in the 7th minute when Samu Koskela turned in a rebound after a fierce drive from Joonas Salmi. Just four minutes later, Henri Lehtola doubled the lead with a curling effort from the edge of the box. Reipas attempted to regroup, but Puiu struck again in the 22nd minute through Antti Törrönen, who headed home from a corner. The rout continued in the 32nd minute when Eemeli Mäkinen powered through the defence and slotted past the goalkeeper.

Second‑Half Consolation

Lahden Reipas showed some fight after the break and pulled a goal back in the 58th minute via Mikko Jokela, who swept home from a cross. However, Puiu were content to manage the game, and the home defence stood firm to ensure no further damage. The result sees Puiu leapfrog their promotion rivals, while Reipas remain in the bottom three.

Puiu manager Petri Leppä praised his side’s intensity: “We started at a pace they couldn’t match. The early goals took the game away from them completely.” Reipas will need to improve their defensive organisation if they are to climb the table.
