Valtti and VJS Vantaa B played out a pulsating 3-3 draw in the Finnish Kolmonen on October 3, 2026, a match that delivered six goals, momentum swings, and late drama at both ends. The result leaves both sides with a share of the points but plenty to ponder defensively.

Match Overview

Tactical Story

Valtti set up with a direct approach, looking to get the ball forward quickly to Lahti and Virtanen. It worked for long periods, especially in the first hour, as VJS struggled to deal with crosses into the box. However, VJS Vantaa B's high pressing line began to cause problems after the break. Their manager made two attacking substitutions around the 65th minute, shifting to a more aggressive 4-3-3, which pinned Valtti back. Valtti's defence, which had been comfortable, suddenly looked vulnerable to quick transitions. The late equalizer came from exactly that kind of move—a turnover in midfield followed by a swift counter-attack.

Standout Players

Mikko Lahti was the standout for Valtti, scoring twice and holding the ball up well. Joonas Virtanen also impressed with his energy and aerial threat. For VJS Vantaa B, Aleksi Nieminen was the catalyst, scoring twice and constantly testing the full-backs. Samuli Korhonen made a huge impact off the bench, and his late goal capped a spirited team performance.

Table Impact

Valtti remain in mid-table, having now drawn three of their last five matches. They will be frustrated to have let a two-goal lead slip. VJS Vantaa B, meanwhile, showed tremendous character to come back from 3-1 down. The point keeps them within touching distance of the promotion playoff places and proves they can compete with the league's stronger sides. Both teams will focus on tightening up defensively ahead of their next fixtures.
