SIF 1–5 Kiisto Vaasa – Ruthless Away Display in the Kolmonen

Kiisto Vaasa produced a devastating attacking performance on the road, thrashing SIF 5–1 at the SIF Stadium. The visitors scored five unanswered goals after the hosts had taken an early lead, climbing into the upper half of the table.

Early shock then total control

SIF stunned the travelling support by opening the scoring in the 8th minute through a close‑range finish from Jani Rautiainen. However, Kiisto Vaasa responded immediately. Winger Eero Saarinen equalised with a low drive four minutes later, and by the half‑hour mark, the visitors had turned the game around with two more goals from Oskari Vainio and Antti Leppänen (penalty).

Second‑half demolition

Kiisto Vaasa did not let up after the break. Two more strikes – a solo run by substitute Sami Heikkinen and a thunderous free‑kick from Juhani Korpela – completed the 5–1 rout. SIF’s defence looked disjointed throughout, unable to cope with the pace and movement of the Vaasa front line.

What’s next

Kiisto Vaasa now sit fourth in the group, with an outside chance of challenging for promotion. SIF, meanwhile, drop into the relegation zone and must regroup quickly to avoid a difficult end to the season.
