Kultsu Lappeenranta secured an emphatic 3‑1 win over KJP in a rain‑soaked encounter at the Lappeenrannan keskusurheilukenttä. The victory keeps Kultsu firmly in the promotion race of the Finnish Kolmonen, while KJP slip further away from the top half of the table.

The match slowed after that, with Kultsu comfortable in possession and KJP unable to mount a serious comeback. The home side’s midfield trio – led by veteran Jussi Mäkelä – controlled the tempo and ensured the three points stayed in Lappeenranta.

Kolmonen Promotion Race Heats Up

The win moves Kultsu Lappeenranta up to fourth place in the Kolmonen (Group 3), now on 28 points from 14 matches, just four points behind leaders PEPO. KJP, meanwhile, drop to seventh with 18 points, their playoff hopes fading.

Kultsu’s form has been impressive – they have now won four of their last five matches – and with the top two sides earning promotion to the Ykkönen, their belief is growing. Head coach Marko Kivinen praised his team’s “organisation and clinical finishing” after the match.
