Tactical Analysis

Berkhamsted Town executed a perfect game plan, defending deep in a 5-3-2 formation and using rapid counter-attacks to exploit Redditch's high defensive line. Redditch dominated possession but were repeatedly frustrated by Berkhamsted's compact shape. The visitors' set-piece threat was evident for the second goal, and their discipline at the back never wavered. Redditch's lack of creativity in the final third was their undoing.

The Berkhamsted goalkeeper made a fine save to deny Redditch from the penalty spot, preserving the clean sheet. For Redditch, the midfield trio worked hard but lacked support from the forwards, and the missed penalty summed up their evening.

For Redditch United, it's a bitter disappointment as they exit a competition they had hoped to make progress in. The result highlights the unpredictability of the FA Cup and the fine margins that decide tight cup ties.
