FC Elva Women and Viimsi JK Women played out one of the most entertaining draws of the Estonian Women's Meistri Liiga season on 3 October 2026, finishing level at 3-3 after a breathless encounter that swung one way and then the other. Six goals, momentum shifts, and a frantic closing period made this a fixture that will be remembered long after the final whistle.

Match Overview

The Estonian Women's Meistri Liiga is the top tier of women’s football in Estonia, and matches between clubs of this profile often deliver open, attacking football. This one exceeded expectations. Both sides committed bodies forward, defended with visible nerves, and treated the crowd to a contest defined by momentum rather than control.

How the Game Unfolded

Elva started brightly in front of their home supporters, dictating the tempo and finding space down the flanks. Their early pressure produced the opening goal, and for a spell it looked as though the home side might pull away. Viimsi, however, are a resilient outfit and responded with a goal of their own, converting a well-constructed move that exposed gaps in the Elva back line.

The game settled into a pattern of traded attacks. Every time one side edged ahead, the other found an answer. Elva’s midfield worked hard to recycle possession and keep the pressure on, while Viimsi’s forwards looked dangerous every time they broke at speed. By the interval, the scoreline was already beginning to look like a see-saw.

The second half delivered even more drama. Viimsi struck to take the lead for the first time in the match, only for Elva to respond with character and level the contest again. With the clock ticking down, both teams pushed for a winner, and the closing minutes produced a series of chances at both ends that somehow went unconverted.

Key Themes

• Six goals shared: A rare scoreline in the Estonian Women's Meistri Liiga, and evidence of two attack-minded teams.
• Constant lead changes: Neither side managed to hold an advantage for long, keeping the outcome in doubt until the final whistle.
• Defensive fragility: Both back lines struggled with pace in behind, a theme managers will want to correct.
• Late drama: A flurry of chances in the final ten minutes, but no winning goal.

Standout Performers

Elva’s attacking players were inventive in the final third, linking well and finding space between Viimsi’s midfield and defensive lines. Viimsi’s forwards, meanwhile, were ruthless in transition and repeatedly turned half-chances into genuine shooting opportunities. Both goalkeepers were kept busy throughout and produced important saves to keep the game level.

Table and Season Impact

A draw does little to settle either club’s ambitions. Elva Women will feel they let two points slip at home, while Viimsi JK Women will regard the point as a fair reward for their resilience on the road. In a league where every point matters for final placement, both managers will view the performance as a mixed bag: plenty of attacking promise, but clear defensive work to do.

What’s Next

Both sides will return to training with a clear focus on defensive organisation and game management. If Elva and Viimsi can combine their attacking output with greater solidity at the back, they will be difficult opponents for anyone in the Estonian Women's Meistri Liiga this season.
