Levadia Tallinn 6-0 Tartu JK Maag Tammeka: Ruthless Levadia Send Title Warning

Levadia Tallinn produced a devastating display of attacking football to crush Tartu JK Maag Tammeka 6-0 in the Estonian Premium Liiga on Friday, 18 September 2026. The win at Kadriorg Stadium was as comprehensive as the scoreline suggests, with the hosts scoring three goals in each half to leave Tammeka shell-shocked and underline their credentials as serious title contenders.

From the first whistle, Levadia played with intensity and precision, pressing high and moving the ball quickly through the thirds. Tammeka, who arrived with hopes of frustrating the hosts, were simply overwhelmed by the pace and directness of Levadia’s attacking play. By the time the half-time whistle blew, the contest was effectively over.

First-Half Blitz Sets the Tone

Levadia opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Aleksandr Volkov latched onto a through ball and calmly slotted past the advancing goalkeeper. The early goal settled any nerves and allowed the home side to dictate the tempo. Volkov doubled his tally in the 27th minute, finishing off a sweeping move down the right flank that Tammeka failed to clear.

The third goal arrived just before the break, with Artur Pikk curling a superb free-kick into the top corner from 20 yards. Tammeka’s defence, already stretched, had no answer to Levadia’s relentless waves of attack. The visitors managed just one shot on target in the entire first half, a tame effort from distance that was comfortably gathered.

Second-Half Scoring Spree

Any hopes of a Tammeka comeback were extinguished within 13 minutes of the restart. Volkov completed his hat-trick in the 58th minute, pouncing on a defensive error and rifling the ball into the roof of the net. The striker was unplayable all evening, combining strength, movement and clinical finishing.

Maksim Gussev added a fifth in the 71st minute with a low drive from the edge of the box, before substitute Karl Mööl rounded off the scoring in the 88th minute, converting a cross from the left. The six-goal margin was Levadia’s largest of the season and served as a clear message to their rivals.

Tactical Story: Press, Possession and Precision

Levadia’s tactical approach was simple but executed to perfection. They pressed Tammeka’s back line aggressively, forcing turnovers in dangerous areas, and then attacked with speed and purpose. The midfield trio controlled the centre of the pitch, allowing the full-backs to push high and create overloads on the wings.

Tammeka, by contrast, sat deep in a low block but failed to close down space effectively. Their attempts to counter-attack were repeatedly snuffed out by Levadia’s disciplined defensive shape. The visitors completed just 62% of their passes in the opposition half and were often reduced to hopeful long balls.

Standout Players

• Aleksandr Volkov: A hat-trick of the highest quality. His movement off the ball and composure in front of goal were the difference between the two sides.
• Artur Pikk: Dictated play from midfield and scored a stunning free-kick. His passing range constantly stretched Tammeka’s defence.
• Maksim Gussev: Came off the bench and added a goal and an assist, highlighting Levadia’s squad depth.
• Tammeka goalkeeper: Despite conceding six, he made several fine saves to prevent an even heavier defeat.

Premium Liiga Table Impact

The victory lifts Levadia Tallinn to the top of the Estonian Premium Liiga standings, two points clear of Flora Tallinn with a game in hand. The goal difference boost could prove crucial in a title race that has already seen several twists. For Tartu JK Maag Tammeka, the defeat leaves them in mid-table, still searching for consistency away from home.

Levadia’s next fixture sees them travel to face Narva Trans, while Tammeka will look to regroup when they host Kuressaare. Based on this performance, Levadia look every bit like champions-in-waiting.
