JK Welco Elekter produced a devastating away performance in the Estonian Esiliiga, dismantling Tallinna FC Ararat TTU 7-0 with a ruthless attacking display. The visitors scored early, kept pressing, and never allowed Ararat to settle at any stage of the match.

Match overview

Welco Elekter set the tone inside the first five minutes and effectively decided the contest before half-time. Their high press forced repeated turnovers, and Ararat’s defence struggled to cope with the speed of Welco’s passing and movement. By the break, the game was already out of reach.

The second half was more of the same. Welco refused to take their foot off the gas, adding further goals and boosting their goal difference significantly. Ararat, who had hoped to make home advantage count, were left chasing shadows for long periods.

Key moments

• 4th minute – Welco take the lead: Karl-Erik Kõiv pounced on a loose ball in the box and finished confidently.
• 18th minute – quickfire double: Martin Jõgi doubled the lead with a low drive from the edge of the area.
• 33rd minute – third goal: Kõiv turned provider, crossing for Tanel Tamberg to head home.
• 45+2nd minute – fourth before half-time: A flowing move ended with a neat finish from Joonas Kartsep.
• 61st minute – fifth goal: Kõiv completed his hat-trick after another sharp pressing action.
• 74th minute – sixth goal: Substitute striker added his name to the scoresheet with a calm one-on-one finish.
• 88th minute – seventh goal: Welco capped the rout with a long-range strike that flew into the top corner.

Tactical story

Welco’s 4-2-3-1 became a 4-2-4 in possession, with the wide players pinning Ararat’s full-backs deep. Their midfield won almost every second ball, and their pressing traps consistently forced Ararat into rushed clearances. Every time Ararat tried to play out from the back, Welco won the ball back within seconds.

Ararat’s defensive line was too high and too disconnected. Once Welco scored the first goal, the home side’s confidence visibly drained. The lack of midfield protection left the defence exposed, and Welco’s attackers took full advantage with intelligent runs in behind.

Standout performers

Karl-Erik Kõiv was the obvious star of the show, scoring a hat-trick and creating another goal. His movement and finishing were too much for Ararat to handle. Martin Jõgi controlled the midfield and scored a brilliant individual goal, while Tanel Tamberg and Joonas Kartsep also impressed with their direct running.

For Ararat, it was a day to forget. Their goalkeeper made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat, but the outfield players struggled to keep possession or slow the game down.

Season impact

A 7-0 victory is more than just three points. It gives Welco Elekter a huge boost in goal difference, which can be decisive in the Esiliiga promotion and playoff race. It also sends a warning to their rivals about their attacking potential.

For Tallinna FC Ararat TTU, the result is a serious setback. They will need to address their defensive shape and confidence quickly, because a scoreline like this can affect a squad for weeks. Welco, by contrast, leave with momentum and a statement win.
