Leafield Athletic LFC Women produced a commanding 4-0 victory over Kidderminster (w) in the FA Women’s National League on 18 October 2026, combining ruthless finishing with a disciplined defensive display. Four different scorers found the net as Leafield controlled the contest from the early stages and never allowed their visitors a route back into the game.

Match overview

Leafield set the tone almost immediately, pressing high and forcing Kidderminster into a series of hurried clearances. The breakthrough arrived inside the first 10 minutes, and from that point the home side looked in complete control. A second goal midway through the first half gave Leafield a comfortable cushion, while Kidderminster’s best moments came from set pieces and rare breaks down the right.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Leafield managed the game intelligently, kept their shape and added two more goals after the break. The clean sheet was just as satisfying as the attacking output, with the back line limiting Kidderminster to very few clear chances.

Key moments

• 9’ – Leafield 1-0: Hannah Price opens the scoring with a composed finish after a high turnover.
• 33’ – Leafield 2-0: Lauren Hayes doubles the lead with a well-placed shot from the edge of the area.
• 58’ – Leafield 3-0: Megan Clarke heads home a corner to put the result beyond doubt.
• 79’ – Leafield 4-0: Sophie Turner completes the scoring with a low drive after a flowing team move.

Tactical story

Leafield’s dominance stemmed from their aggressive pressing and quick ball circulation. They repeatedly forced Kidderminster into turnovers in midfield, then attacked the space behind the full-backs. The home side’s wide players stretched the defence, creating room for central runners and allowing Leafield to sustain pressure for long spells.

Kidderminster attempted to sit deeper and absorb pressure, but they struggled to keep possession long enough to relieve the tension. When they did win the ball, Leafield’s counter-press was immediate, often winning it back within a few passes. The visitors’ goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score down, but Leafield’s control was never seriously threatened.

Standout players

• Hannah Price (Leafield Athletic LFC Women): Set the tone with the early goal and linked play intelligently throughout.
• Megan Clarke (Leafield Athletic LFC Women): Dominant in the air, scored the third and helped secure the clean sheet.
• Sophie Turner (Leafield Athletic LFC Women): A constant threat on the wing and capped her performance with a fine goal.
• Amy Bennett (Kidderminster (w)): Made a number of saves to prevent an even heavier defeat.

What it means

The three points strengthen Leafield Athletic LFC Women’s position in the FA Women’s National League and boost their goal difference, which could matter later in the season. For Kidderminster (w), it was a difficult afternoon, but the focus will quickly shift to regrouping ahead of their next fixture. Leafield’s performance served notice that they can be both expansive and defensively solid when they hit their stride.
