Norwich City Women were forced to settle for a point as they played out a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Women in an entertaining English Women's North Conference fixture at Carrow Park. Both sides found the net before the interval, but neither keeper was beaten again after the break in a game that offered plenty of tactical intrigue.

The match started at a frenetic pace, with both teams showing attacking intent from the first whistle. Norwich struck first just past the quarter-hour mark when a patient build-up was rewarded with a sweeping move. A low cross from the left found midfielder Lucy Parker, who guided her first-time effort into the bottom corner to give the home side a deserved lead.

Norwich's advantage lasted barely ten minutes. On the balance of play, a draw was probably a fair outcome. Norwich City Women will be satisfied with their overall performance but frustrated not to have converted more of their possession into goals. Huddersfield Women, meanwhile, showed the resilience that should keep them competitive in the English Women's North Conference this season, with both sides taking a point from what could prove a valuable road fixture.
