Jersey Bulls produced a controlled away performance to beat AFC Stoneham 2-0 in English Isthmian League One on October 7, 2026. The visitors scored in each half, defended their clean sheet with discipline, and handed AFC Stoneham a frustrating night in front of their own supporters.

Match Overview

Jersey Bulls began the game with a clear plan: stay compact, absorb pressure, and strike on the counter. AFC Stoneham saw plenty of the ball in the opening twenty minutes, but clear chances were hard to come by. The visitors’ back line held its shape well, and when the first goal arrived, it came from a swift transition that caught Stoneham short at the back.

The second half followed a similar pattern. AFC Stoneham pushed more players forward in search of an equaliser, but Jersey Bulls remained calm and doubled their lead with a well-executed move. From there, the visitors managed the game expertly, slowing the tempo and limiting Stoneham to speculative efforts from distance.

Key Moments

• 23rd minute – Jersey Bulls 1-0: Tom Vickers finished low into the corner after a quick break down the right.
• 39th minute – Stoneham’s best chance: A header from a corner flashed just wide of the post.
• 61st minute – Jersey Bulls 2-0: Lucas Faria doubled the lead with a composed finish after being played through on goal.
• 74th minute – Important save: Jersey goalkeeper produced a strong stop to deny Stoneham’s striker from close range.
• 88th minute – Game management: Jersey Bulls kept possession in the corners to see out the closing stages.

Tactical Story

Jersey Bulls’ 2-0 win was built on defensive discipline and efficient finishing. They allowed AFC Stoneham to have the ball in harmless areas but closed down quickly whenever the hosts tried to play into the final third. The midfield screen in front of the defence was particularly effective, cutting off passing lanes and forcing Stoneham into wide deliveries that were comfortably dealt with.

Going forward, Jersey looked dangerous every time they won the ball back. Their two goals came from direct, purposeful attacks, and they could have added a third on the break. AFC Stoneham, by contrast, struggled to find a way through a well-organised opponent and became increasingly frustrated as the match wore on.

Standout Players

Tom Vickers was a constant threat with his running and took his goal confidently. Lucas Faria’s second-half strike gave Jersey Bulls the cushion they needed, while the goalkeeper’s late save preserved a deserved clean sheet. For AFC Stoneham, the central defender worked hard to repel wave after wave of pressure, but the team lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

Season Impact

The victory gives Jersey Bulls another important three points in English Isthmian League One and reinforces their reputation as a tough side to break down. AFC Stoneham remain with work to do, particularly in attack, but there were enough spells of possession to suggest they can turn performances into results. For Jersey, this was a professional away display that will please the coaching staff.
