Moneyfields Women power past Saltdean United Women with 4-1 FA Women’s Cup win

Moneyfields Women produced a dominant attacking display to beat Saltdean United Women 4-1 in the FA Women’s Cup on Sunday, 25 October 2026. Chloe Marshall was the star of the show with a well-taken hat-trick, while Jess Turner added a fourth as the home side turned a tight early contest into a comfortable victory at Moneyfields Sports Ground.

Saltdean had their moments, particularly when Lauren Hayes equalised in the first half, but Moneyfields’ pressing and movement proved too much over the course of the 90 minutes. The home side created chances from wide areas and set pieces, and once they regained the lead before half-time, they never looked likely to surrender it.

Match overview

Moneyfields started brightly and were rewarded with an early goal when Marshall latched onto a through ball and finished confidently. Saltdean responded well, finding an equaliser through Hayes after a period of pressure. Rather than panic, Moneyfields reasserted control through their midfield and regained the lead just before the break. The second half was largely one-way traffic, with the home side’s superior fitness and pressing intensity telling.

Tactical story

Moneyfields’ high press forced Saltdean into several turnovers in dangerous areas, and their midfield trio controlled the tempo for long spells. The home side repeatedly targeted the space behind Saltdean’s full-backs, with Marshall drifting into central areas to finish moves. Saltdean defended bravely at times but struggled to cope with the speed of Moneyfields’ attacking transitions, especially after the hour mark.

Standout players

Marshall was the obvious difference-maker, showing excellent positioning and composure in front of goal. Turner’s energy in midfield and her late goal capped a strong all-round performance, while Moneyfields goalkeeper Amy Collins made a crucial save at 2-1 to preserve the lead. For Saltdean, Hayes was their brightest attacking threat and took her goal well.

What the result means

Moneyfields Women move into the next round with a statement win and a hat-trick performance that will boost confidence across the squad. Saltdean United Women will be disappointed with the manner of the defeat but can take encouragement from their first-half response. The FA Women’s Cup result underlines Moneyfields’ attacking potential as the competition progresses.
