AFC Bournemouth Women cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Feniton (W) in the English FA Women's Cup, delivering a professional and controlled performance that never looked in danger of slipping away. The hosts were sharper in every department, and the four-goal margin was a fair reflection of their dominance across the ninety minutes.

Match Overview

Bournemouth started brightly and were rewarded with an early goal that settled any lingering cup-tie uncertainty. From that point on, the home side managed the game superbly, controlling possession and patiently probing for openings rather than forcing the issue. Feniton worked hard and defended in numbers, but the quality gap told in the end.

Key Moments

• Early opener: Bournemouth struck first after a neat passage of play down the left, setting the tone for the afternoon.
• Doubling the lead: A second goal before half-time gave the hosts a cushion they fully deserved.
• Second-half control: Bournemouth added two more after the break as Feniton legs began to tire.
• Defensive discipline: The home back line kept a clean sheet, limiting Feniton to very few clear chances.

Tactical Story

Bournemouth's approach was built on patient possession and moving the ball quickly from side to side to stretch Feniton's defensive block. The hosts' midfielders consistently found pockets of space between the lines and were happy to recycle possession until an opening appeared. When Feniton did win the ball back, they struggled to keep it, and the home side's counter-press won it back almost immediately.

Feniton's game plan was clear: defend deep, stay compact, and look for set pieces or rare counter-attacking opportunities. It worked for stretches, particularly in the opening twenty minutes, but the sustained pressure eventually wore them down.

Standout Performers

Bournemouth's attacking players were a constant threat, combining well in tight areas and showing composure in front of goal. The central defenders deserve credit for their concentration levels, remaining switched on even as the game became one-sided. Feniton's goalkeeper was arguably her side's best player, making a string of saves to prevent the scoreline from growing further.

What It Means

Progress in the FA Women's Cup is always valuable, and Bournemouth will be pleased with both the result and the clean sheet. A four-goal win without conceding speaks to the balance of the side. Feniton exit the competition with credit for their organisation and effort, and will now turn their focus back to league commitments with lessons to take from a difficult away day.
