Tactical Story

Hashtag United’s game plan revolved around quick passing and movement in the final third. Their midfielders rotated well, creating overloads on the flanks and pulling Brentwood’s defence out of shape. Adeyemi’s two goals were the product of that fluid attacking play, and for long periods Hashtag looked the more technically accomplished side.

Brentwood Town, however, refused to be intimidated. They used their physicality to win second balls and repeatedly tested Hashtag’s defence with crosses and set pieces. Both of Stone’s goals came from situations where Brentwood crowded the penalty area, and the late equaliser arrived after they committed extra bodies forward. Defensively, both teams struggled to protect their back lines, which made for a thrilling but chaotic contest.

Standout Players

Jordan Adeyemi was Hashtag United’s standout performer, scoring twice and causing problems with his pace and direct running. Alfie Hicks also impressed with his energy on the wing, while Hashtag’s captain controlled the tempo in midfield for much of the match.

For Brentwood Town, Charlie Stone was the hero of the comeback, scoring twice and leading the line with determination. Louis Grant’s late equaliser was a substitute’s dream, and Brentwood’s goalkeeper made a crucial save in the 90th minute to prevent Hashtag from winning it at the death.

What It Means for the FA Trophy Tie

The 3-3 draw keeps both clubs in the FA Trophy, but it also exposes areas each manager will want to address. Hashtag United will be frustrated that they could not hold onto a two-goal lead, while Brentwood Town will take confidence from their fighting spirit and set-piece threat.

The tie remains level, and the replay will offer both sides a chance to correct their mistakes. For Hashtag United, the focus will be on game management and defensive concentration. For Brentwood Town, the challenge is to reproduce the intensity and belief they showed in the second half. With the FA Trophy offering a realistic route to a memorable cup run, neither team will want to let this opportunity slip.
