Bradford City secured a 2-0 home win over Stevenage Borough in English Football League One on Saturday, with goals in each half sealing a professional victory at Valley Parade. Bradford controlled long spells and defended their box well when Stevenage pushed forward.

Bradford took the lead in the 34th minute when Jamie Holt finished a flowing move down the right. Stevenage responded with a spell of pressure before half-time, but the home side’s goalkeeper made two important saves. Bradford doubled their advantage in the 72nd minute through Owen Blake, who converted from close range after a corner was only half-cleared.

Tactical story

The hosts were efficient in possession, and their two goals came from moments of quality rather than sustained pressure. Stevenage improved after the break but lacked the final ball.

Standout players

Holt was a constant threat with his movement and link-up play, while Blake’s finish showed why he is trusted in the box. Bradford’s goalkeeper also played a key role with saves at crucial moments.

Season impact

The win strengthens Bradford City’s position in the League One standings and adds momentum to their home form. Stevenage Borough will look to regroup quickly, but they leave Valley Parade with plenty to work on.
