El Dakhlia SC claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Tersana SC in the Egyptian Scores Cup on 26 October 2026, with a single goal proving enough to settle a hard-fought cup tie. The win gives El Dakhlia the advantage and leaves Tersana with work to do in the return fixture.

Match overview

The game began with both sides looking to impose themselves. Tersana SC tried to play through midfield and create chances with quick passing, while El Dakhlia SC were organised and compact, looking to win the ball back and break at speed. The contest was physical and competitive, with little space for either team in the attacking third.

El Dakhlia’s defensive discipline laid the platform for their win. Their back line held a high line when possible and stepped up to catch Tersana’s forwards offside. In midfield, they pressed aggressively and forced turnovers, which allowed them to build momentum as the first half progressed.

The decisive moment

The only goal of the game arrived after a sustained spell of pressure from El Dakhlia. A well-worked move down the flank created space in the box, and the resulting finish was calm and precise. Tersana’s goalkeeper had little chance, and the home side’s supporters celebrated a lead that their energy had deserved.

Tersana responded with urgency. They pushed more players forward and began to dominate possession, but El Dakhlia’s defence stood firm. The goalkeeper made a smart save from a close-range effort, and a last-ditch block prevented an equaliser in the closing stages.

Tactical story

El Dakhlia SC’s success was built on balance. They defended in a compact shape, protected the centre of the pitch, and used quick transitions to relieve pressure. Their midfield worked hard to close down Tersana’s playmakers, and their forwards were efficient in the final third.

Tersana SC will feel they had enough of the ball to get something from the game, but they struggled to break down a well-drilled defence. Their best chances came from set-pieces and crosses, yet El Dakhlia dealt with those threats comfortably for most of the evening.

What the result means

The 1-0 win puts El Dakhlia SC in a strong position in the Egyptian Scores Cup tie. They have a lead to protect and the confidence of a clean sheet. Tersana SC, meanwhile, will need to be more creative and more clinical in the next meeting.

Cup ties are often decided by small details, and this match was no exception. El Dakhlia took their chance, defended with determination, and gave themselves a platform to build on.
