Tactical Story

Trnje lined up in a 4-3-3, with their full-backs pushing high to overload the wide areas. This created a numerical advantage in midfield, allowing them to recycle possession quickly and pin Uljanik back. NK Uljanik attempted to counter through long balls over the top, but Trnje’s centre-backs read the danger well. Uljanik’s manager made attacking substitutions in the second half, but Trnje’s defensive structure remained compact and disciplined, limiting the visitors to speculative efforts.

Standout Players

Trnje’s attacking midfielder was the architect of the win, providing an assist and constantly finding space between the lines. The centre-forward who scored the opener was also impressive, holding the ball up and bringing others into play. For NK Uljanik, their goalkeeper made several good saves to prevent a heavier defeat, while their captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield but was often isolated.

Season Impact

This victory strengthens Trnje’s position in the Croatian Second Football League and continues their strong home form. NK Uljanik remain in search of consistency and will be disappointed with a performance that lacked bite in the final third. Trnje’s ability to control matches at home could be a key factor in their season, while Uljanik must address their attacking issues if they are to climb the table.

Trnje will take confidence from a professional display, while Uljanik will look to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
