NK Uljanik claimed a convincing 3-1 victory over Radnik Krizevci in the Croatian Second Football League on Friday, delivering a performance built on patience, pressing, and clinical finishing. The home side controlled long spells of the match and were full value for the three points.

Match Overview

Uljanik started brightly and took the game to Radnik from the first minute. Their midfield trio rotated well, creating overloads on the flanks and forcing Radnik into a deep defensive block. The opening goal arrived midway through the first half, and from that point Uljanik never really surrendered the initiative.

Radnik improved after the break and briefly threatened a comeback when they pulled a goal back, but Uljanik responded with composure rather than panic. Two more goals in the final half-hour sealed a result that keeps the home side in touch with the promotion places.

Key Moments

• 22′ – 1-0: Antonio Barišić finished off a flowing move, converting a low cross at the near post.
• 55′ – 1-1: Josip Horvat equalised for Radnik with a well-placed header from a free-kick.
• 67′ – 2-1: Barišić restored Uljanik’s lead with a curling effort from the edge of the area.
• 81′ – 3-1: Mateo Kovačević sealed the win, finishing a counter-attack after Radnik pushed numbers forward.

Tactical Story

Uljanik’s 4-3-3 shape caused Radnik problems all evening. The wide forwards stayed high and wide, stretching the defence, while the central midfielders timed their runs into the box. Radnik’s equaliser briefly changed the mood, but Uljanik’s ability to regain control through quick ball circulation was the defining feature of the match.

Defensively, Uljanik pressed intelligently, often forcing Radnik into sideways passes. The visitors struggled to build through the middle and became increasingly reliant on long balls, which Uljanik’s centre-backs dealt with comfortably. The third goal came directly from that pressing approach, as Radnik lost possession in a dangerous area.

Standout Players

Antonio Barišić was the star of the show with two goals and constant movement in the final third. Mateo Kovačević added a goal and an assist, while Luka Vidović controlled the tempo from midfield. Radnik’s Josip Horvat was their best performer, scoring and working tirelessly despite limited service.

Table Impact

The victory strengthens Uljanik’s position in the Croatian Second Football League and gives them momentum heading into a difficult run of fixtures. Radnik Krizevci remain in a precarious spot and will need to improve their away form quickly. The gap between the two sides on the night was clear, but the league table remains tight enough that every result carries extra weight.
