Aalborg Women suffered a humiliating 7-1 defeat at home to Naestved HG Women in the Danish Women's Division 1 on Saturday, a result that underlined the gulf in class between the two sides. The visitors ran riot from start to finish, scoring five goals in a devastating first-half display.

First Half Onslaught

Naestved HG wasted no time in asserting their dominance. Striker Julie Madsen opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a composed finish after a defensive mix-up. By the 25th minute, the visitors had added three more through Camilla Nielsen (12', 24') and Ida Andersen (19'). Aalborg's defence looked shell-shocked, unable to cope with the pace and movement of Naestved's front line.

The home side pulled one back against the run of play in the 33rd minute when forward Sofie Christensen latched onto a long ball and slotted home. However, any hopes of a comeback were extinguished just before halftime, as Naestved restored their four-goal cushion through a powerful header from defender Laura Mikkelsen.

Second Half Dominance

Naestved continued their relentless pressure after the break. Madsen completed her hat-trick in the 56th minute with a fine solo run, and substitute Maja Søgaard added a seventh in stoppage time. Aalborg goalkeeper Mathilde Jensen made several saves but was ultimately powerless to prevent the rout.

Table and Relegation Fears

The heavy defeat leaves Aalborg rooted to the bottom of the Division 1 table with just 5 points from 12 matches, now eight points from safety. Naestved HG, meanwhile, climb to third place with 23 points, keeping their promotion playoff hopes very much alive. For Aalborg, the immediate priority is shoring up a defence that has now conceded 41 goals this season.

Naestved will aim to continue their winning streak when they host mid-table side BSF, while Aalborg face a must-win trip to fellow bottom-half team Dalum.
