Skovshoved and NB Bornholm produced a remarkable ten-goal spectacle in the Danish 4th Division on Saturday, with Skovshoved running out 7-3 winners after an open, attacking contest. The home side’s finishing was ruthless, and a dominant second-half spell turned a competitive match into a convincing victory.

Match overview

The game began at a frantic pace, with both teams committed to attacking football and neither defence able to establish control. Skovshoved looked the more dangerous side from the opening exchanges, but NB Bornholm remained a threat on the counter and contributed fully to an entertaining first half. By the interval, the scoreline already hinted at a high-scoring finish.

Skovshoved raised their level after the break. Their midfield pressed higher, their wide players stretched the pitch, and the home side’s forward line capitalised on repeated gaps in the NB Bornholm defence. The visitors kept pushing and were rewarded with goals of their own, but Skovshoved’s superior cutting edge made the difference in a breathless second half.

Key moments

• Early opener: Skovshoved took the lead after a fluent move down the right and a composed finish at the near post.
• Bornholm response: NB Bornholm equalised quickly, showing that they intended to compete in an open game.
• First-half goal rush: Both teams traded chances and goals before the break, with Skovshoved holding a narrow advantage.
• Second-half control: Skovshoved pulled away with a run of goals early in the second half, effectively deciding the match.
• Late consolation: NB Bornholm kept attacking and added a late goal, but the result was already beyond doubt.

Tactical story

This was a match defined by transitions. Skovshoved were quick to move the ball forward after winning possession, and NB Bornholm struggled to reorganise before the home side’s attackers were inside the penalty area. The visitors’ high defensive line also left them exposed to through balls, which Skovshoved exploited repeatedly.

NB Bornholm’s attacking approach was admirable and produced three goals, but it also left them vulnerable. With both teams committing numbers forward, the game became a series of attacking waves. Skovshoved managed those waves better after half-time, tightening their midfield and making sure their forward players received the ball in dangerous positions.

Standout performers

Skovshoved’s centre-forward was the game’s outstanding player, completing a hat-trick and linking play effectively throughout. The home side’s creative midfielder also impressed with a series of assists and intelligent passes. For NB Bornholm, the attacking midfielder was their brightest spark and was involved in most of their best moves, while their goalkeeper made several saves despite the heavy defeat.

What the result means

The win gives Skovshoved a major confidence boost in the Danish 4th Division and reinforces their attacking potential. For NB Bornholm, the defeat is a difficult one, but the three goals scored show that the team carries a genuine attacking threat. In a division where goal difference can matter, Skovshoved’s seven-goal display could prove valuable by the end of the season.
