HIK Hellerup and Roskilde shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the Danish 2nd Division on September 26, 2026, at the Gentofte Sportspark. Both sides had spells of dominance, but neither could find a winning goal in a balanced contest.

Match overview

HIK Hellerup started the brighter of the two teams, pressing high and creating the first meaningful chances. Their reward came in the 23rd minute when Mads Christensen finished neatly from inside the box. Roskilde responded well, gradually taking control of possession and pushing for an equaliser. The visitors got their reward in the 67th minute through Nicklas Pedersen, and from there the game became a tense, end-to-end affair with both sides searching for a winner.

Key moments

• 14th minute: HIK's first chance fell to their winger, but his shot was well saved by the Roskilde goalkeeper.
• 23rd minute: Mads Christensen opened the scoring, poking home from close range after a goalmouth scramble.
• 45+1 minutes: Roskilde nearly equalised just before half-time, but a header from a corner hit the crossbar.
• 67th minute: Nicklas Pedersen levelled the score with a precise low finish after being played in behind the defence.
• 82nd minute: HIK thought they had won it, but their striker was denied by a superb one-handed save.
• 90+2 minutes: Roskilde had a late free-kick in a dangerous position, but it was cleared away.

Tactical story

HIK Hellerup set up in a 4-4-2, looking to use their wide players to stretch Roskilde's defence. Roskilde, meanwhile, employed a 4-3-3 and tried to dominate the midfield through quick combinations. The first half belonged to HIK, who pressed aggressively and forced turnovers. However, as the game wore on, Roskilde's extra man in midfield began to tell, and they controlled the second half. Both teams made attacking substitutions in the final 20 minutes, but defensive resilience ensured the points were shared.

Standout performers

For HIK, Mads Christensen was lively throughout, scoring his goal and constantly testing the Roskilde backline. Goalkeeper Anders Holm made several important saves to keep his side in the game. Roskilde's Nicklas Pedersen was the visitors' best player, taking his goal well and linking play intelligently. Midfielder Rasmus Larsen also impressed with his passing range.

What the result means

The draw leaves both teams in mid-table in the Danish 2nd Division, with HIK Hellerup perhaps the more frustrated of the two after taking the lead. Roskilde will be pleased with their second-half response and the character shown to come from behind. The head-to-head record between these sides remains evenly balanced, and this result does little to separate them in the standings. Both will look to turn draws into wins in their upcoming fixtures to climb the table.
