Tactical story

Slavia’s 4-3-3 looked sharp in possession, with their midfielders rotating well and creating overloads in wide areas. However, they struggled to turn dominance into clear chances against a compact Mlada Boleslav side. The hosts defended in a disciplined 4-1-4-1 block and grew in confidence as the game wore on. Their equaliser came from a more direct approach, forcing Slavia to defend their box under pressure.

Standout players

Černý was Slavia’s most influential attacker, linking play and scoring the opening goal. Mlada Boleslav’s goalkeeper Růžička was outstanding, making several important saves and commanding his area. Novotný’s equaliser capped a strong second-half performance, while the home defence deserves credit for withstanding late Slavia pressure.

Season impact

The draw feels like a missed opportunity for Slavia Praha U19, who will see it as two points dropped in the Czech U19 League title race. For Mlada Boleslav U19, the result is a morale-boosting show of resilience against one of the strongest academy sides in the country. Both teams will take different lessons into their next fixtures.
