Sigma Olomouc B produced one of the most emphatic away performances of the Czech Third League season on Sunday, dismantling Polanka 5-0 with a clinical attacking display. The reserve side set the tone inside the opening quarter of an hour and never allowed the hosts to settle, turning a promising start into a comprehensive victory that strengthens their position in the upper half of the table.

Match overview

Polanka came into the contest looking to make home advantage count, but they were pinned back almost immediately by Olomouc’s aggressive pressing and quick ball movement. The visitors opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Jakub Přibyl, whose low finish from the edge of the area set the pattern for the evening. Olomouc doubled their lead just after the half-hour mark when Tomáš Hrubý arrived late in the box to convert a well-worked move.

The third goal arrived shortly before half-time, with Marek Švec pouncing on a loose ball after Polanka failed to clear a corner. That strike effectively ended the contest as a competitive fixture, although Olomouc did not ease off after the interval. Přibyl added his second from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute, before Filip Doležal completed the scoring with a composed finish eight minutes from time.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Přibyl opens the scoring with a low effort after Olomouc’s high press forces a turnover.
• 31st minute: Hrubý doubles the lead, finishing a flowing move through the middle.
• 44th minute: Švec makes it 3-0 from close range following a corner.
• 63rd minute: Přibyl converts a penalty to claim his brace.
• 82nd minute: Doležal rounds off the scoring with a neat finish inside the box.

Tactical story

Olomouc B lined up with a flexible 4-2-3-1 and used their midfield runners to overwhelm Polanka’s deeper block. The visitors won second balls consistently and shifted the ball quickly from side to side, creating space between the hosts’ full-backs and centre-backs. Polanka attempted to defend in a compact 5-4-1 shape, but once the first goal went in, their structure became stretched.

The most impressive aspect of Olomouc’s performance was their control without the ball. They pressed in coordinated bursts and forced Polanka into long clearances, which were usually recovered by the visiting defence. With a comfortable lead, Olomouc managed the second half intelligently, keeping possession and attacking only when clear openings appeared.

Standout performers

Přibyl was the obvious headline-maker with two goals, but his movement between the lines also created space for Hrubý and Švec. Hrubý controlled the tempo in midfield and was involved in several of the best attacking sequences, while goalkeeper Matěj Kopecký preserved the clean sheet with an important save at 1-0. For Polanka, the afternoon was one to forget, though their goalkeeper made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat.

What the result means

The five-goal margin gives Sigma Olomouc B a significant boost in both points and goal difference as they push for a strong finish in the Czech Third League. For Polanka, the priority is now to regroup defensively and find a response in their next fixture. Conceding five at home will hurt, but the manner of the defeat will be of greater concern than the scoreline alone.
