Mlada Boleslav B edge past Banik Most-Sous in narrow 1-0 win

Mlada Boleslav B claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Banik Most-Sous in the Czech Third League on October 10, 2026, with a single second-half goal separating the two sides at the Mlada Boleslav training centre. The match was a tight, tactical affair, decided by a moment of quality and a resilient defensive display from the home team.

Banik Most-Sous arrived with a reputation for physical, direct play, and they made life difficult for Mlada Boleslav B throughout. However, the home side’s patience and organisation ultimately paid off, earning them three valuable points in a competitive third-tier campaign.

Match overview

The first half was largely a battle for midfield control. Mlada Boleslav B tried to play quick combinations through the middle, while Banik Most-Sous pressed aggressively and looked to launch counter-attacks through the channels. Clear chances were scarce, with both goalkeepers largely untroubled before the interval. The best opportunity of the opening 45 minutes fell to the visitors, but a low drive from the edge of the box flashed wide of the far post.

After the break, Mlada Boleslav B increased the tempo. Their wingers began to push higher, and the full-backs overlapped more frequently. That pressure finally told in the 67th minute when Daniel Svoboda broke the deadlock with a composed finish after a clever cut-back from the left.

Key moments

• 29th minute – Banik Most-Sous chance: A quick counter ended with a shot from 18 yards that narrowly missed the target.
• 67th minute – Mlada Boleslav B 1-0: Daniel Svoboda arrived late in the box and side-footed home from 10 yards.
• 78th minute – Banik Most-Sous pressure: The visitors won a series of corners, but Mlada Boleslav B defended them with composure.
• 90+3rd minute – Late save: Home goalkeeper Patrik Černý tipped a dipping effort over the bar to preserve the clean sheet.

Tactical story

Mlada Boleslav B’s victory was built on patience and defensive discipline. They did not panic when the first half passed without a goal, instead adjusting their build-up to get more runners between the lines. Banik Most-Sous, meanwhile, will feel they deserved something from the game after a spirited second-half display, but they lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

The home side’s midfield trio worked tirelessly, shielding the back four and recycling possession. Banik’s best moments came from set pieces and long throws, but Mlada Boleslav B’s centre-backs stood firm. The introduction of fresh legs in the final 20 minutes also helped the home team see out the match.

Standout players

Daniel Svoboda was the match-winner and the most dangerous player on the pitch, finding space between the lines and taking his goal expertly. Goalkeeper Patrik Černý made two important saves, including a stoppage-time stop that secured the three points. For Banik Most-Sous, Radek Novotný was a commanding presence in midfield, while their centre-back partnership dealt well with much of Mlada Boleslav’s build-up play.

Czech Third League table impact

The 1-0 win moves Mlada Boleslav B onto a healthier points total and reinforces their reputation as a difficult team to beat at home. For Banik Most-Sous, the narrow defeat leaves them searching for more consistency in front of goal, though their overall performance suggested they will remain competitive. In a division where margins are often small, Mlada Boleslav B’s ability to grind out results could prove valuable as the season progresses.
