MFK Havirov secured a 3-1 home win over Polanka in the Czech Third League on 18 October 2026, delivering a performance built on early pressure and sharp finishing at Mestsky stadion Havirov.

Match overview

Havirov started with intent and controlled the opening exchanges, forcing Polanka into a deep defensive shape. The breakthrough arrived in the 12th minute when Jakub Svoboda latched onto a loose ball inside the penalty area and finished low into the corner. The hosts doubled their advantage in the 38th minute through Petr Vavra, whose close-range header capped a patient passing move down the right.

Polanka improved after the interval and pulled one back in the 74th minute when Michal Toman converted from the edge of the box after a scramble. Any hopes of a comeback were extinguished in the 88th minute, however, as Lukas Bednar broke clear on the counter and calmly slotted past the goalkeeper to seal the 3-1 result.

Key moments

• 12' — Jakub Svoboda opens the scoring for Havirov after a defensive clearance falls kindly.
• 38' — Petr Vavra heads home a cross from the right to make it 2-0.
• 74' — Michal Toman gives Polanka a lifeline with a well-struck effort from outside the area.
• 88' — Lukas Bednar restores Havirov’s two-goal cushion on the break.

Tactical story

Havirov’s 4-2-3-1 shape worked effectively, with the two holding midfielders screening the back four and allowing the full-backs to push high. Their high press forced Polanka into frequent turnovers in midfield, and the hosts consistently found space between the lines. Polanka switched to a more direct 4-4-2 after the break and enjoyed a better spell, but Havirov’s defensive discipline held firm in the final stages.

Standout players

Jakub Svoboda was the standout performer, combining movement, link-up play, and a crucial opening goal. Petr Vavra also impressed with his aerial presence, while Lukas Bednar showed composure to finish the decisive late chance. For Polanka, Michal Toman was the most threatening outlet and took his goal well.

Season impact

The three points lift MFK Havirov into a more comfortable position in the Czech Third League standings and reinforce their strong home record. Polanka remain in need of points and will view the late concession as a costly setback in their battle to move clear of the lower reaches of the table.
