Tactical story

Zdar nad Sazavou set up in a 4-4-2 and tried to use their wingers to stretch Humpolec’s defence. They created several good crossing opportunities but were often outnumbered in the box. Their equalizer came from their best passage of play, yet they struggled to maintain that intensity after scoring.

AFC Humpolec lined up in a 4-2-3-1 and pressed intelligently, forcing turnovers in midfield. Their direct running caused problems all afternoon, and they were ruthless when Zdar’s defence switched off for the winning goal. The away side defended deep in the final 10 minutes, clearing their lines effectively and relying on their goalkeeper to seal the result.

Standout players

Humpolec’s right winger was the game’s most dangerous attacker, setting up the first goal and constantly beating his marker. Their central midfielder controlled the tempo and scored the winner with a composed finish. For Zdar nad Sazavou, the centre-back who scored the header was their best performer, while their striker worked hard but lacked service in the final 20 minutes.

Season impact

The away win gives AFC Humpolec a valuable boost in the Czech Fourth Division table and continues their strong start to the season. Zdar nad Sazavou will feel they deserved at least a point after a committed second-half display, but defensive mistakes proved costly. With the teams likely to meet again later in the campaign, this result could prove important in the race for position and local pride.
