Sokol Tasovice produced an entertaining attacking display to beat AFC Humpolec 4-2 in the Czech Fourth Division on 25 October 2026, with a late goal finally breaking the visitors’ resistance after a spirited fightback.

The match was a throwback to open, end-to-end football: Tasovice were sharper in the final third, but Humpolec twice levelled the score and remained dangerous until the closing stages. A strong finish from the home side ultimately made the difference.

Match overview

Sokol Tasovice began with purpose and took an early lead through Jakub Novák, whose movement between the centre-backs caused problems from the first whistle. Humpolec responded well, equalising midway through the first half, and for a spell the game looked like it might swing either way.

Tasovice regained the advantage before half-time, only for Humpolec to draw level again after the break. The home side’s response was impressive: they raised the tempo, created clearer chances, and scored twice in the final 20 minutes to secure a well-earned three points.

Key moments

• 8th minute: Sokol Tasovice took the lead when Jakub Novák finished calmly after being played through on goal.
• 22nd minute: AFC Humpolec equalised through Martin Dvořák, whose header looped beyond the goalkeeper.
• 39th minute: Petr Svoboda restored Tasovice’s advantage with a composed finish from the edge of the area.
• 54th minute: Humpolec levelled again when Lukáš Beneš converted from close range after a goalmouth scramble.
• 71st minute: Novák scored his second of the match, finishing a flowing move down the left.
• 88th minute: Tomáš Král sealed the win on the counter-attack, sliding the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 4-2.

Tactical story

Sokol Tasovice were the more aggressive side in possession, using wide overloads to stretch Humpolec’s back line. Their midfield rotated well, creating space for late runs into the box, and that pattern produced several of their best chances. The home side also pressed effectively after losing the ball, preventing Humpolec from building sustained attacks.

Humpolec’s strengths lay in their direct play and set-piece threat. They scored twice from situations inside the penalty area and remained competitive for long periods. However, their defensive line dropped too deep as the game wore on, inviting pressure, and Tasovice’s superior fitness and bench impact told in the final quarter-hour.

Standout performers

Jakub Novák was the attacking catalyst for Sokol Tasovice, scoring twice and constantly testing the Humpolec defence. Petr Svoboda controlled the tempo in midfield and added a crucial goal, while Tomáš Král’s late finish capped a strong substitute appearance. For AFC Humpolec, Martin Dvořák and Lukáš Beneš deserved credit for keeping their side in the contest.

Table impact

The 4-2 win strengthens Sokol Tasovice’s position in the Czech Fourth Division and underlines their attacking potential. AFC Humpolec will be disappointed to concede four times, particularly after twice fighting back to level. The result adds another high-scoring chapter to the division’s season and gives Tasovice valuable momentum.
