Slavicin 2-0 Holesov: Patient Home Side Secure Clean-Sheet Win

Slavicin claimed a controlled 2-0 victory over Holesov in the Czech Fourth Division on Sunday, 18 October 2026, combining patient build-up play with a disciplined defensive display. The home side scored in each half and rarely looked in danger of surrendering their advantage, securing three valuable points at 16:15.

Holesov enjoyed spells of possession but struggled to turn that territory into clear chances. Slavicin’s structure held firm, and their two goals were enough to decide a match that was competitive but ultimately shaped by the home team’s greater cutting edge.

Match overview

Slavicin began cautiously, keeping their shape and allowing Holesov to circulate the ball in less dangerous areas. The hosts grew into the contest and opened the scoring midway through the first half. From that point, they managed the game with maturity, defending compactly and looking to strike on the break when Holesov pushed numbers forward.

The second goal arrived in the 71st minute and gave Slavicin the breathing room they needed. Holesov continued to probe, but the home defence remained organised and protected the clean sheet through the closing stages.

Key moments

• 27th minute: Michal Černý gave Slavicin the lead with a powerful header from a corner, rising above his marker at the near post.
• 71st minute: Radek Janík doubled the advantage after a quick counter-attack, finishing low past the Holesov goalkeeper.
• Late pressure: Holesov pushed forward in search of a route back into the game, but Slavicin’s back line dealt comfortably with a series of crosses and set pieces.

Tactical story

Slavicin set up in a compact 4-4-2 and focused on denying Holesov space in central areas. The midfield unit stayed disciplined, forcing the visitors wide and making it difficult for them to create clear shooting opportunities. When Slavicin won possession, they looked to transition quickly, and both goals came from moments of sharp decision-making rather than prolonged pressure.

Holesov dictated more of the ball but lacked penetration in the final third. Their best chances came from crosses, yet Slavicin’s defence stood strong and goalkeeper Vojtěch Hájek commanded his area well. The home side’s ability to defend set pieces and limit second balls proved decisive.

Standout performers

Michal Černý was a constant threat from set pieces and delivered the opening goal with a well-taken header. Radek Janík’s energy and finishing made him another key figure, while Vojtěch Hájek’s clean sheet capped a solid defensive effort. For Holesov, the midfield worked hard to keep the ball moving, but the visitors lacked the final pass needed to break down a well-organised Slavicin side.

Season impact

The result gives Slavicin a valuable home victory and strengthens their standing in the Czech Fourth Division table. Holesov, meanwhile, will be disappointed not to have converted their possession into more meaningful chances. Slavicin will look to carry the same defensive discipline into their next fixture, while Holesov must find more creativity in the attacking third if they are to turn promising spells into points.
