Sokol Hostoun produced a clinical away performance to beat Meteor Praha 4-2 in the Czech Fourth Division on 25 October 2026. A brace from Pavel Kučera helped the visitors secure all three points in an entertaining six-goal contest that swung one way and then the other before Hostoun pulled clear in the final quarter of an hour.

Match overview

Meteor Praha started brightly and enjoyed plenty of the ball in the opening exchanges, but they were caught out by Hostoun’s direct approach. The visitors looked dangerous every time they broke forward, and their willingness to shoot from distance troubled the home defence throughout the afternoon. Hostoun led 2-1 at half-time and, after Meteor equalised early in the second half, finished strongly to claim a deserved victory.

The game was played at a high tempo, with both teams committed to attacking football. Meteor’s possession-based style created a number of promising positions, but they were repeatedly undone by Hostoun’s quick counter-attacks and sharp finishing in the box.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Hostoun took the lead when Pavel Kučera latched onto a through ball and slotted calmly past the goalkeeper.
• 28th minute: Meteor Praha equalised through Jakub Svoboda, who converted from close range after a sustained spell of pressure.
• 43rd minute: Hostoun restored their advantage just before the break, Martin Bárta heading home from a corner.
• 57th minute: Meteor made it 2-2 when David Pátek finished neatly at the near post after a neat passing move.
• 74th minute: Kučera struck again, finishing a fast counter-attack to put Hostoun back in front.
• 88th minute: Substitute Ondřej Malý sealed the win with a low drive from the edge of the area.

Tactical story

Meteor Praha set up in a 4-3-3 and tried to build play patiently from the back. Their midfield found space between the lines, but the high defensive line left them exposed to Hostoun’s direct running. Time and again, the visitors won the ball in midfield and looked to release their forwards quickly, bypassing Meteor’s press with long, accurate passes.

Hostoun’s 4-4-2 shape was built on discipline and efficiency. Their two strikers worked hard to close down Meteor’s centre-backs, while the wide midfielders tucked in to deny central space. Set pieces were also a clear weapon: Bárta’s first-half header came from a well-worked corner routine, and Hostoun’s physical presence in the box caused problems all afternoon.

Standout players

Kučera was the match-winner for Hostoun, showing excellent movement and composure in front of goal. Bárta was dominant in the air at both ends, and Malý made an immediate impact from the bench with the fourth goal. For Meteor Praha, Svoboda and Pátek were the brightest attacking outlets, but the home side’s defensive errors proved costly.

Season impact

The win gives Sokol Hostoun a valuable boost in the Czech Fourth Division and strengthens their position in the upper half of the table. Meteor Praha, meanwhile, are left to reflect on a frustrating afternoon in which their attacking play deserved more than a defeat. Improving their defensive shape and handling counter-attacks will be a priority if they are to climb the standings in the coming weeks.
