FK Prepere secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Jiskra Usti nad Orlici in the Czech Fourth Division on Saturday, 17 October 2026. A second-half header from Jan Novák proved enough to settle a tight, competitive match at 16:30, with Prepere’s defence holding firm through a tense finale.

Match overview

FK Prepere started the brighter of the two sides, pressing with intent and forcing Jiskra Usti nad Orlici into several early clearances. The visitors grew into the game as the first half wore on, finding space in midfield and testing the Prepere back line with crosses into the box. Neither goalkeeper was seriously troubled until the closing stages of the first period, when both sides traded half-chances. The decisive moment arrived in the 63rd minute, and after that Prepere defended their lead with maturity, dropping into a compact shape and limiting Jiskra’s access to the penalty area.

• 11th minute: Prepere winger Tomáš Horák forced a low save from the Jiskra goalkeeper after cutting inside from the left.
• 24th minute: Jiskra striker Lukáš Beneš headed over from a good position following a deep free-kick.
• 41st minute: Prepere goalkeeper Petr Dvořák made a sharp save at his near post to deny a close-range effort.
• 63rd minute: Jan Novák scored the only goal, heading home Pavel Svoboda’s corner from six yards out.

Tactical story

FK Prepere set up in a disciplined 4-4-2, looking to stay compact in midfield and attack through wide areas and set pieces. They were happy to let Jiskra have the ball in less dangerous zones, and their defensive line held a good shape throughout. Jiskra Usti nad Orlici played with a 4-2-3-1 and tried to build through the middle, but they struggled to break down Prepere’s midfield block. Their best moments came from dead balls and crosses, yet the final delivery was often too close to the goalkeeper. After taking the lead, Prepere became even more conservative, and Jiskra’s late pressure lacked the precision needed to find an equaliser.

Standout performers

Jan Novák was the match-winner for FK Prepere, timing his run perfectly to meet Svoboda’s corner and power a header into the net. Goalkeeper Petr Dvořák also played a key role, making two important saves and commanding his area well under late pressure. In defence, the centre-back pairing dealt with Jiskra’s crosses effectively, while Pavel Svoboda’s set-piece delivery proved decisive. For Jiskra Usti nad Orlici, goalkeeper Martin Černý kept his side in the game with several solid stops, and Lukáš Beneš worked tirelessly up front, but the visitors lacked a finishing touch on the day.

What the result means

The three points lift FK Prepere’s confidence and strengthen their position in the Czech Fourth Division table. A clean sheet and a hard-fought home win will be especially satisfying for the coaching staff, who will point to the team’s defensive discipline as the foundation of the result. Jiskra Usti nad Orlici, meanwhile, will feel they did enough to earn at least a draw, but they were undone by one set-piece moment and a lack of ruthlessness in front of goal. Both sides now turn their attention to the next round, with Prepere looking to build momentum and Jiskra eager to convert improved performances into points.
