Match overview

Chlumec started on the front foot and took the lead inside 10 minutes. Their high pressing forced Letohrad into mistakes, and they doubled their advantage midway through the half. A third goal just before the interval left the visitors shell-shocked. Letohrad improved after the break and scored a consolation, but Chlumec restored their three-goal cushion late on. The home side's midfield dominance and clinical finishing were the key factors.

Key moments

• 9' – Chlumec opener: Jan Dvořák pounced on a defensive error and slotted home.
• 27' – Second goal: Petr Svoboda headed in a corner at the near post.
• 44' – Third goal: Dvořák grabbed his second with a powerful strike from outside the box.

Tactical story

Chlumec's 4-4-2 formation was aggressive and direct, with the two strikers constantly pressing the Letohrad centre-backs. The midfield four worked hard to win the ball back quickly, and the full-backs provided width. Letohrad struggled to cope with the intensity and were forced into long balls that were easily dealt with. In the second half, Letohrad switched to a back three to try to gain a foothold, and they did create a few chances, but Chlumec's defence remained largely untroubled.

Standout players

Jan Dvořák was outstanding, scoring twice and leading the line with intelligence. Petr Svoboda was a threat from set-pieces, and Lukáš Marek made an impact off the bench. For Letohrad, the free-kick scorer showed good technique, but the team's overall performance was below par.

Season impact

Chlumec nad Cidlinou climb the Czech Fourth Division table with this convincing win, asserting their promotion credentials. FK OEZ Letohrad remain in the bottom half and will need to tighten up defensively. Chlumec's goal difference gets a significant boost, and they will head into their next fixture with confidence. Letohrad, meanwhile, must regroup quickly to avoid slipping further down the standings.
