Čechie Vykáň 2-3 FK Kolín — Czech Fourth Division (Divize) — Saturday 19 September 2026, 16:15. FK Kolín won a five-goal thriller 3-2 away at Čechie Vykáň, surviving a late comeback to take all three points from an entertaining Czech Fourth Division encounter.

Match Overview

The Czech Fourth Division sits one rung below the national third tier and serves as the top level of regional football in the country. Clubs here are a mix of former professional names, ambitious village sides and traditional town clubs, and this fixture pitted exactly those two worlds against each other: the small, tightly knit community club of Čechie Vykáň against FK Kolín, a town team with a long history in higher divisions.

Kolín controlled the game for the best part of an hour, building a deserved 3-0 lead with sharp, incisive attacking play. What followed was a dramatic finale, as Vykáň scored twice to set up a tense closing period in which the visitors had to defend for their lives.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: Kolín struck first with a flowing move down the left, finished with a low shot across the goalkeeper.
• Doubling the lead: A second arrived before half-time from a corner, the ball flicked on and bundled in at the back post.
• Third goal: Early in the second half, Kolín's striker capitalised on a defensive error to make it 3-0 and seemingly settle the contest.
• Vykáň revival: The hosts pulled one back with a well-struck free-kick and then made it 3-2 with a header from a deep cross.
• Final whistle: Vykáň threw everything forward in the closing minutes, but Kolín cleared a goalmouth scramble to cling on.

Tactical Story

Čechie Vykáň lined up with a compact shape and looked to spring quick counter-attacks through their two wide players. It worked sporadically, but their defensive line sat too deep for much of the first hour, inviting Kolín to camp in the final third and swing crosses into the box. Three goals conceded from exactly those situations told the story of the opening 60 minutes.

To their credit, the hosts changed their approach after the third goal, pushing the defensive line higher and committing more players to the press. That decision transformed the game. Kolín, suddenly hurried in possession, lost their rhythm and conceded twice within a short window. Only some last-ditch defending and a smart save late on prevented a remarkable comeback.

Standout Players

Kolín's striker was the most influential player on the pitch, scoring one goal and creating another with intelligent movement and unselfish link-up play. Their left-sided midfielder delivered a steady stream of quality crosses all afternoon. For Čechie Vykáň, the captain in central defence rallied his team during the comeback, while the substitute who scored the second goal brought genuine energy and urgency to a side that had looked beaten.

What It Means in the Table

The victory keeps FK Kolín firmly in the leading group of the Czech Fourth Division and reinforces their reputation as one of the division's most dangerous attacking teams. Away wins of this nature — where a comfortable lead is defended under late pressure — build the kind of character that matters over a long season.

Čechie Vykáň take plenty from the fightback but nothing from the scoreline, and their inability to defend set pieces will be the main topic of analysis in training this week. In a division where home form so often decides survival, turning performances like this into points is the challenge that will define their campaign.
