SK Cezava 0-1 Boskovice produced a tight, hard-fought Czech Fifth League encounter on Sunday night, with a single goal separating the sides at the final whistle. Boskovice took the points with a disciplined away performance, while SK Cezava were left to rue a lack of cutting edge in the final third.

Match overview

The game was played at a brisk tempo but with little room for clean attacking play. SK Cezava saw more of the ball for long spells and tried to build through midfield, but Boskovice stayed compact, protected the central areas and forced the hosts into wide, low-percentage deliveries. The decisive moment arrived in the second half when Boskovice turned a spell of pressure into the only goal of the night.

Key moments

The breakthrough came after a patient Boskovice move down the right. A low cross was only half-cleared, and midfielder Marek Novák reacted quickest to drive the ball through a crowded penalty area and into the net. SK Cezava responded with their best period of the match, pushing full-backs higher and sending more bodies into the box, but Boskovice goalkeeper Tomáš Beran dealt comfortably with the few clear chances that came his way.

• Decisive goal: Marek Novák, second half
• Key save: Tomáš Beran denied SK Cezava’s late equaliser
• Match tempo: Controlled possession for Cezava, sharp counter-attacks from Boskovice

Tactical story

SK Cezava’s approach was built on possession and patient circulation, but the hosts struggled to break Boskovice’s defensive line once the visitors dropped into a compact 4-4-2 shape. Boskovice were happy to concede territory and attack through quick transitions, and that plan paid off when the game’s only goal arrived. The away side managed the closing stages intelligently, slowing the tempo and forcing Cezava to chase the game from deeper positions.

Standout performers and table impact

Novák’s goal was the obvious highlight, but Boskovice’s back line deserved just as much credit. The centre-back pairing stayed composed under late pressure, and Beran’s goalkeeping gave the visitors a reliable last line of defence. For SK Cezava, the performance showed plenty of effort and territory but not enough penetration — a familiar problem in matches where the first goal proves decisive.

The result gives Boskovice a valuable away win in the Czech Fifth League standings and boosts momentum ahead of their next fixture. SK Cezava, meanwhile, will focus on turning possession into clearer chances as they look to bounce back in their next league outing.
