FK Teplice produced the most emphatic performance of the round, hammering FC SILON Táborsko 5-0 in the Czech Cup to book their place in the next stage with a ruthless attacking display.

The scoreline tells the story of a match that Teplice controlled from start to finish. The top-flight visitors were sharper, faster and far more clinical than their second-division hosts, and once the first goal went in, the contest quickly became one-way traffic under the midweek lights.

Match overview

Teplice signalled their intent early, pressing high and forcing Táborsko into a series of hurried clearances. The opener arrived inside the first quarter of an hour, and from that moment the pattern of the game was firmly established.

Táborsko tried to respond by pushing their defensive line higher, but that only created more space for Teplice's forwards to exploit. By half-time the tie was effectively decided, and the second half became a question of how many the visitors would add rather than whether they would win.

Key moments

• 11' — Teplice open the scoring with a header from a corner, the first sign of the aerial dominance to come.
• 27' — A swift counter-attack doubles the lead, finished low into the far corner.
• 43' — A third goal before the break leaves Táborsko with a mountain to climb.
• 64' — Teplice add a fourth with a curling effort from the edge of the box.
• 82' — The fifth arrives from the penalty spot, rounding off a comprehensive win.

Tactical story

Teplice's 4-3-3 caused problems all evening. Their wingers stayed wide to stretch Táborsko's back four, while the central striker dropped deep to drag defenders out of position and open gaps for runners from midfield. It is a system that demands high fitness levels, and Teplice's pressing was relentless.

Táborsko, by contrast, struggled to keep possession for more than a few passes at a time. Their best moments came from set pieces, but even there Teplice's height and organisation proved decisive.

Standout performers

Teplice's striker was the focal point of everything good about the team, contributing goals and hold-up play in equal measure. The two wide players also caused constant problems with their direct running, while the goalkeeper made one excellent save to preserve the clean sheet.

For Táborsko, the evening was one to learn from. Their young centre-back showed composure in difficult circumstances and their goalkeeper was blameless for most of the goals.

What it means

The win sends Teplice into the next round with confidence flowing and a healthy goal difference behind them. Cup runs can build momentum for the league season, and a performance this dominant will be noted by the rest of the competition.

For FC SILON Táborsko, the defeat is a heavy one, but the club's focus will quickly shift back to the league, where the experience of facing top-flight opposition can still serve as a valuable benchmark for the squad.
