FC Viktoria Plzeň produced a professional and ruthless performance to defeat FK Mladá Boleslav 3-0 in the Czech Chance Liga on October 10, 2026. Goals in each half, combined with a dominant midfield display, saw the hosts cruise to a comfortable victory that keeps them firmly in the title race.

Match Overview

Plzeň were in control from the first minute, pressing high and moving the ball with purpose. They took the lead inside 10 minutes and never looked back. Mladá Boleslav struggled to cope with Plzeň's fluid attacking movements, and the game was effectively over as a contest by the hour mark. A third goal late on added gloss to the scoreline, but the margin of victory could have been even greater. Plzeň's goalkeeper was largely a spectator, while his opposite number was far busier.

Key Moments

• 9th minute – Plzeň 1-0: Jan Kopic opened the scoring with a precise left-footed shot into the bottom corner after a clever through ball from Pavel Bucha.
• 52nd minute – Plzeň 2-0: A flowing team move ended with Tomáš Chorý rising highest to head home a cross from the right.
• 75th minute – Plzeň 3-0: Substitute Václav Pilař put the result beyond doubt with a low finish after a mazy run into the box.
• 90+3 minutes – Full time: Plzeň comfortably saw out the win.

Tactical Story

Plzeň lined up in a 4-2-3-1 with the full-backs pushing very high, effectively creating a five-man attack in possession. Mladá Boleslav attempted to press but were repeatedly played through by Plzeň's slick passing triangles. The key battle was in midfield, where Plzeň's Bucha and Kalvach completely outnumbered and outclassed their opponents. Mladá Boleslav's defensive line dropped too deep, inviting pressure and allowing Plzeň to camp in their half. The visitors' only tactic was to hit long balls to their isolated striker, which rarely worked.

Standout Players

Jan Kopic (Viktoria Plzeň): Opened the scoring and was a constant threat on the right wing, completing five successful dribbles.
Pavel Bucha (Viktoria Plzeň): Controlled the tempo of the game and provided a beautiful assist. His range of passing was outstanding.
Tomáš Chorý (Viktoria Plzeň): A towering presence up front, he held the ball up well and scored a trademark header.
Václav Pilař (Viktoria Plzeň): Came off the bench and made an immediate impact with a well-taken goal.

Table Impact

With this victory, Viktoria Plzeň keeps pace with the league leaders and sends a clear message to their title rivals. Their goal difference is now among the best in the division. For FK Mladá Boleslav, this was a sobering evening. They remain in mid-table mediocrity, and a lack of cutting edge against the top teams continues to hold them back. Plzeň's next fixture will be eagerly anticipated as they look to maintain their impressive form.
