Aris Limassol claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Krasava ENY Ypsonas FC in the Cypriot First Division on Tuesday, with a second-half goal separating the sides in a tense contest. The victory keeps Aris in the early-season title conversation and hands Krasava a narrow defeat despite a disciplined defensive performance.

Match Overview

Aris Limassol controlled possession from the first whistle, dictating the tempo through their midfield and patiently probing for gaps. Krasava ENY Ypsonas set up in a compact low block, inviting pressure and looking to spring counter-attacks. The first half produced few clear chances, with Aris's best opportunity coming from a free-kick that clipped the outside of the post.

Krasava's goalkeeper was busy throughout, making a sharp save to deny a close-range header and another stop from a driven shot. The home side grew in confidence as the half wore on, but they struggled to keep the ball for extended periods, often clearing long rather than building through midfield.

Key Moments

• 22' — Aris striker forces a low save from the Krasava goalkeeper.
• 41' — Krasava's best chance of the first half curls just wide.
• 58' — Aris have a goal ruled out for offside after a quick break.
• 67' — Marios Dimitriou scores the only goal, finishing a cut-back from the right.
• 84' — Krasava send a header over the bar from a rare corner.

Tactical Story

Aris lined up with a 4-2-3-1 and used their wide players to stretch Krasava's back line. The decisive moment came when their right-back overlapped and pulled the ball back for Marios Dimitriou, who took a touch before slotting into the corner. It was a goal that rewarded Aris's patience and patient build-up play.

Krasava's 5-4-1 shape made life difficult for Aris in central areas, but it also left the home side with little support for their lone striker. When they did win the ball, their counters were too isolated to trouble the Aris defence consistently. Aris managed the closing stages professionally, keeping possession and limiting set-piece opportunities.

Standout Players

Marios Dimitriou was the match-winner for Aris Limassol, showing composure in the box. Aris's goalkeeper also deserves credit for a clean sheet and a couple of important saves at key moments. For Krasava, the central defender and goalkeeper were the standout performers, repeatedly repelling crosses and keeping the score respectable.

What the Result Means

Aris Limassol move forward with three valuable away points, maintaining their push near the top of the Cypriot First Division table. For Krasava ENY Ypsonas, the defeat is a tough one to take, but the defensive organisation shown against a stronger opponent offers encouragement for the matches ahead. The focus now shifts to turning narrow losses into points in the coming weeks.
